David Siegel - Westgate Resorts

David Siegel Founder and Chairman Emeritus

David Siegel founded Westgate Resorts in 1982 with a vision to create a premier vacation ownership company. Recognizing the potential for vacation ownership, he pivoted from real estate development to embark on the great experiment of developing timeshare properties.

David spent more than forty years developing Central Florida Investments/Westgate Resorts into the largest privately-owned company in Central Florida. Under David’s leadership, the Westgate portfolio of companies includes destination timeshare resorts, hotels, casinos, restaurants, water parks, spas, apartments, travel services, sports betting, citrus & land, insurance services and many other ventures.

Over the years, he expanded Westgate Resorts into the largest privately-owned timeshare company in the world, known for its luxury properties and innovative marketing strategies. Westgate today boasts more than 15,000 hotel rooms and timeshare villas at stunning resorts in the country’s most desirable vacation destinations.

David was presented the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), in honor of his lasting contributions to the timeshare industry. A true visionary with amazing business acumen, he helped shape the timeshare industry for all time.

David also served as the Chairman of the Victoria’s Voice Board of Directors, a charity he founded after the tragic loss of his beloved daughter Victoria “Rikki” Siegel to an accidental drug overdose. The Victoria’s Voice Foundation is one the nation’s leading advocates for drug policy changes, access to Naloxone, drug education and prevention methods. A noted speaker on the topic of drug addiction, David devoted his life to ensuring no other family shared the same tragedy his family did.
